Dominion East Ohio Energy Choice
Dominion East Ohio’s Energy Choice program lets you choose your natural gas supply option. Eligible Dominion East Ohio customers taking advantage of the program have the option of buying their natural gas with prices and plans that are right for them from a supplier certified by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
Ohio Energy choices: How do I choose the right gas supply option for me?
It’s easy. With the Energy Choice program, eligible Dominion East Ohio customers have several options:
- You do the shopping. Choose your own certified natural gas supply option - one with prices and plans you think are best for you - from a list of suppliers certified by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).
- Let your community decide. Join a local government’s community Community Aggregation buying program, if one’s available in your area. Communities use bulk purchasing to try and pass on greater savings to individuals. Already have a certified natural gas supplier or participate in a community buying program? Call the supplier listed on your bill first before choosing another gas supply option to determine if any early termination fees apply.
- Can’t Decide? Have a supplier assigned to you. For Residential customers who use less than 3,000 MCF a year can choose to be assigned to a supplier at the Standard Choice Offer (SCO) rate which changes monthly. Non-Residential and large volume customers, as well as those that were previously with an Energy Choice supplier or participated in a municipal aggregation opt-in program whose contracts expire, will return to Dominion East Ohio's SSO rate for up to two billing periods, after which they are assigned to a supplier at that supplier’s Monthly Variable Rate (MVR). Residential customers assigned to MVR commodity service may request to be moved to the SCO service Already on the SCO? You can remain on it or choose a different supply option.
- Residential customers who are already on the SCO may remain on it or choose a different supply option.
If you choose to switch to an Energy Choice supplier, Dominion East Ohio will continue to:
- Deliver your natural gas
- Respond to service and emergency needs
- Read your meter
- Provide customer service and billing
