Dominion East Ohio’s Energy Choice Options
Dominion East Ohio’s Energy Choice program allows you to either pick your own natural gas supply option or opt not to make any choice at all and still receive natural gas. The three options in Dominion East Ohio’s Energy Choice program include:
- Standard Choice Offer: This option is for participants of the Dominion’s Energy Choice program who don’t choose a retail supplier. On this rate, DEO will assign you a supplier and you will be billed at the approved Standard Choice Offer (SCO) rate. Your supplier name will show on your bill to let you know who is supplying your natural gas, but you will pay the same monthly SCO rate regardless of the supplier. Energy Choice Aggregation Program participants with an opt out option who canceled their contract or whose contract has expired will also be placed on the SCO rate.
- Choose from Energy Choice Suppliers serving Ohio: With this option, customers can choose from a list of participating Dominion Energy Choice suppliers. Contact the supplier before enrolling to verify its rate, contract terms, and availability in your county.
- Community Aggregation: This Energy Choice option uses the bulk purchasing power of towns and communities so greater savings can be passed on to individual consumers. By joining together, consumers can gain the ability to utilize a team of experienced professionals as an aggregator to negotiate for better prices and protections. Local governments, such as cities, counties, townships and villages may aggregate the energy used by their residents and arrange for the purchase of natural gas as “governmental aggregators.” Local governments may begin their aggregation programs following their certification by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
